Edward W. Ciolko is a partner and Co-Head of Sterlington’s Complex Litigation Group. He began his legal career as an Commissioner’s Attorney Advisor at the Federal Trade Commission (Consumer Protection & Anticompetitive Practices). Prior to joining Sterlington, he was a partner at Lynch Carpenter, where, in addition to FLSA, consumer protection, and ERISA work, he helped lead the firm’s COVID 19 College Tuition/School Fee Refund practice, with cases across the country in state and federal court. At Kessler Topaz, he helped create, manage, and expand the firm’s ERISA/Consumer Department.
Beyond these matters, Ed’s expertise encompasses a range of complex financial and lending matters, including ERISA breach of fiduciary duty “imprudent pension investment” actions, insurance/reinsurance, lending, anti-trust, RESPA and cybersecurity. Prior to his government service, he was an academic researcher and teaching assistant at the Yale School of Management in organizational behavior and negotiation, a creative consultant, and sports journalist.
Ed earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, his MBA in Corporate Finance and Investments from the Yale School of Management, and his B.A. from Wesleyan University in Economics and Ancient/Medieval History.
