Jamie Sklar

Jamie Sklar is a corporate attorney with nearly 25 years of experience managing complex transactions and corporate matters with an emphasis on representing clients in private equity, M&A, joint ventures and fund formation matters. Jamie also advises Canadian companies doing business in the U.S., operating companies in corporate transactions, and as outside general counsel to fund managers and individuals on private equity carry plans and related matters. Jamie has served as a Senior In-House M&A and Fund Formation/Management Attorney at Credit Suisse Asset Management, Associate General Counsel Private Equity at global investment firm Strategic Value Partners, and General Counsel and Managing Director at capital and advice partner Emigrant Partners. He worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at White & Case for over three years and at Sidley Austin’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Group for over five years, where he represented U.S. and international financial, industrial, and service institutions with M&A matters, private equity fund formation and investments, and a broad range of corporate transactions. Jamie earned his LL.B. and B.C.L., and M.B.A. from McGill University where he graduated with Great Distinction and served as President of its Business Law Club. He earned his B.A. in Administrative and Commercial Studies at the Western University in Ontario.
